It's been a hell of a week!
Mom had a major heart attack last Tuesday, had four stents placed. Her right carotid was 100% blocked She did well with the stent placement.
Her hemoglobin has been dropping which indicates an internal bleed so the GI Dr. said we need to find that and fix it or she will need blood transfusions if it keeps dropping.
He wanted to scope her top and bottom on Friday but my cousins who one is a Dr. (nuero) and his sister is a nurse married to an ENT freaked out saying the risk was too high. It's risky for me with a healthy heart nevermind a 71yo woman who just had a bad M.I. (heart att) We have been faxing my cousins all her resuilts and they are going over them with their co-workers, a cardio Dr. and a GI doc. They also spoke to my moms Dr's, whicjh is a good thing for her Dr.s to hear," Hi I'm Dr. Weittrich and I'm Dorothy nephew. I would like to speak about her results."..
GI Dr. wanted to do an upper (less stress on the heart) on Friday but her nurse gave her some breakfast so that scratched out that test. Probably the best thing that could of happened because the dr. s wanted to do it on Monday, if it was so rush rush they would of done it on Sat.
Sun. my sister and I camped out at Robert Wood because of the storm and also my mom had to drink 20, yep 20 cups of some nasty that made her her brains out. We took care f her all night. I have to say that for a patient who was having a cleansing done, her room was the cleanest and smelled the cleanest. The nurses d us for that, lol. It took a lot out of my mom (no pun intended) and she looked horrible, her coloring, she was weak, tired, scared and humiliated.
About 4am the state declared an emergency because of the weather. There was no where to sleep so we didn't. About 5am, I was eyeballing the bottom of her bed thinking if I could just ball up like a cat and sleep for 10 minutes.....
She had the procedure early, found nothing with the EGD (upper) and couldn't do the lower, she has diverticulitis and they were afraid of perforating her bowel and causing sepsis + her bp was dropping. they took her out and she had to eat the camera pill. We dont have the results for that in yet. Her cardio said to expect CHF and depending what the GI Dr. says she can be released with a day or so.
We might have to put her in a rehab for a week so she can gain back her strength. So that's where we are now.
I'm so full of apples and sunshine, eh? JESUS!
I'm hanging in there by the thread of my teeth, wtf does that mean anyway? I think I may of just made that up. Is it supposed to be by the skin of my teeth? LOL, That doesn't sound right either, what is the saying?
Kourt had a delayed opening today which was good so I could sleep in a bit. She has been missing her mommy.
We took her up Sunday morning to see grammy, which made them both happy but you can see she is afraid of grammy dying.
Sophia didn't seem concerned so I'm guessing since Kourtney experienced the loss of Chance she understands death a bit more. Which breaks my heart.
On another note
Canon just called and my camera is ready. Wow, that was quick! Joe had brought it to the service center and they told him the warrenty was expired but he got them to fix it for free. I swear, my man can sell ice to an eskimo. Me, on the other hand...LOL...I get all riled up and pissed so...
BTW it was a defected shutter issue so if any Canon users read this and you get an err 99, keep this in mind. That seemed to be an issue for a lot of users who got an err 99. You would think the company would recall and fix the problem.
