Mom Update

Mom finally got released from the hospital yesterday. She is now at a rehab that is also a nursing home which adds a splash of color to my visits.

She needs about 2 weeks physical therapy to get her strong again. She is very weak and if she came here or my sisters she wouldn't get up like she is supposed to. She could also fall and break something which wouldn't be good.

The rehab is 5 minutes away which is perfect! Much better then the drive to RWJ. So I can take better care of her there.

They never found a bleed so they gave her an iron regime and her hemoglobin is going back up. So perhaps low iron anemia.

They tested her BNP, an enzyme that the heart puts out. Her number was 500 which means mom has on the high side of mild conjestive heart failure.....sigh....

Thats what my dad had and my Chancey. My dad passed away from a blood infection from an IV being left in his arm too long, nice, eh? He suffered a long time with conjestive heart failure though. Chancey, I'm not sure what took him. The tumor, the heart failure or maybe both.

When she is done with the rehab, she might go back to her house for a week or so, my aunt wants to come and take care of her. So after that, she will be moving in with us..............sigh.......

She can't live alone. She wasn't capable of taking her meds or eating properly (borderline diabetic) so we have to step up.

We are going to put a bed and a TV in Kourt' playroom downstairs.

My sister is working on a room for her also so if she gets sick of us or vice versa, she can go there for a bit.

I told my husband that I will be taking her out of here and he is going to keep bringing her back, lol.
